What are the greatest songs ever written?

One day I shall create the perfect car-mix CD (or, quite possibly, CDs) and on it shall be Liz Phair, Sarah Harmer and Martina Sorbara. There shall be Dar Williams and Green Day and a broad selection of Bic Runga as well as Belly, Pulp and Great Big Sea. This CD will cause all who listen to sing along or, should the words be unknown to them, hum along loudly and keep the beat.

At least, that's what *I'll* do when I get to listen to it. ^_^

Hmm... okay, how's this: a toe-tappingly happy (or at least energetic) CD for setting out and a more quiet, melancholy and languid one for coming home.

I bought a set of sparkly pens yesterday and promptly wrote more than I've written (by hand, at any rate) in one sitting in... it must be years. How sad is that? Must be my ever-expanding collection of notebooks. Yesterday I got another fancy4u fruit notebook -- curse the cuteness unto the seventh generation!!! -- and one with a Winnie the Pooh theme. And then, to top it all off, the sparkly pens came with a little notebook. Gah! *burble*

On the bright side, I haven't bought any clothes in over a week! Oh wait, I bought a bra yesterday.

Damn.

So, what *are* the greatest songs ever written?

Hey, you didn't answer my question!

*Best song ever*

The music of your voice is by far the *best song* I have ever heard...

In fact, when you actually sing, the world holds its breath, anxiously await each note, each word, and the beautiful melody of your voice...

But if I must pick something more mundane than your angelic voice, I really enjoy my Enigma and Delirium. But, they really dont compare to the auditory bliss you generate ;)

After quite a few years of reflexion, i've come to the conclusion that Delerium's Wisdom is my favorite song *ever*..

*rofl*

So, you consider yourself the world, eh? ;)

ok ok...

so I was referring specifically to MY world

but I have little doubt the same applies elsewhere ;)
