Last weekend was lots of fun and seemed surprisingly long. We took [livejournal.com profile] kimchii out to La Ferme Rouge on Friday and had her name announced with sparklers and everything, which was fun. Also, [livejournal.com profile] desayuno ate an oyster for the first time in her life and was grossed out because of the taste and again when we told her it was still alive. *snicker*

On Saturday, Projet Poulet was a smashing success. [livejournal.com profile] punkieg had all the time he needed (wanted!) to cut the meat, without me telling him impatiently to hurry up, and my family enjoyed the results.

On Sunday, I bought a sewing machine! I have yet to set it up but tonight I cut the material for a skirt and will sew it tomorrow. Unfortunately, I might not be able to finish it because I have no elastic for the waistband. Perhaps I can pick some up on the way home, possibly from Zellers?

Anyway, after that it was back to my parent's house. Max, G and I set up the car shelter in under 3 hours and I must say we did a superb job lashing the tarp to the poles. Then it was a lasagna supper to celebrate my father's birthday, for which we gave him the complete DVD set of Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister, which he said was one of the best presents he's ever gotten. It's his favourite television series, you see, and an uproariously funny show. Colonial yolk indeed!

I'm really looking forward to sewing some clothes for myself. I think the satisfaction at the outcome of my Hallowe'en dress has finally caught up with me; I want to do more!

The fifth Harry Potter book is quite engrossing and I find myself turning out the light rather late because of it.
