Let is sew, let it sew, let it sew!
Dec. 11th, 2005 06:37 pmSewing to do that MUST be done before Christmas:
- A-L's present*... for last Chistmas >_<
- M-P's present for this Christmas
- also, M-P's curtains that I couldn't finish the last time she was here, owing to my sewing machine acting up
- a present for Andrea, my pretend-cousin and terribly talented singer, guitarist and sometimes banjoist (though I haven't yet witnessed that part of it) of The Vanity Press (http://www.thevanitypress.com/)
- something for Anna
- presents for G's family, because he never has any ideas
- little bags to put gifts in
- stuffies for the girls I dance with -- these have to be done by the 21st at the latest, as that's our last class, and maybe some for other people
I have 13 days to do all this, five of which are school days, plus I have the usual dance classes, gym, work, etc. to do, not to mention a house to clean.
And then there's the small matter of my wedding dress! But that's only for the 29th, so I've got PLENTY OF TIME! :D Also, the skirt that needs a zipper is lying, forlorn, on my ironing board, silently beaming sad little "Why won't you hem me? Why am I not yet finished?" waves at me.
Now, if I'm to get any of this done, I'll have to discipline myself. That means that I should be making a stuffie, finishing a project and at least cutting the next one out each day. Somehow, it seems to work better for me if I do cutting and sewing on different days. Giving myself some breathing space, as it were.
* I should be used to it by now, but I always buy too much fabric. For example, A-L's top requires a smidgen over a yard of fabric, yet I bought at least two. Was I planning something that I'm not aware of? No matter, I know what's happening to it now.
